The football team, coached by Matt Lawson, faced New Kent on Friday night for their military appreciation game. The student section went wild with enthusiasm supporting their team and the military. The game started at 7:00pm at Bailey Field, after a huddle led by Coach Lawson. The captains Carter Wood (12), Alec Mahar (14), Zachary Coldsnow (22), and Isaiah Hall (52) led the team with strength and enthusiasm all throughout the game.

It was a tight game throughout; New Kent took the lead by scoring a touchdown with 3:49 minutes left in the first quarter. New Kent scored again with 11:37 minutes left in the second quarter, but even after getting scored on twice the tiger spirit didn’t die out. The Senior class led the student section to loud cheers to support the team. Two minutes later Ryan Scheck (76) had a solid tackle on a New Kent player who had gotten a breakaway, saving the team from another New Kent touchdown. The Halftime score was Tabb 0 – New Kent 20.

With 4:42 minutes left in the third quarter, quarterback Alec Mahar scored a touchdown, changing the score to 7-20. The final score of the game was Tabb 7 – New Kent 20.
