November’s senior of the month is Zachary Clark. Zac’s tiger spirit is shown through his participation in a wide array of school activities and clubs. A member of the student-led group Student Ambassadors, honor societies like Mu Alpha Theta and Spanish Honor Society, and of course, marching band, Zac covers the whole breadth of student experience and embodies the Tabb goal of involvement and inclusion.
As for his favorite part of the school? “Band, definitely band. You know, “spend all my time there,” he said with a laugh. The hardest part about high school for him is AP Chemistry, though even that isn’t too hard for him, as he is just as smart as he is busy. His secret is to look at examples and mimic it (he’s just that good), remembering what he needs to by simply looking at it. Clark hopes to attend University of Virginia or James Madison University next fall to major in either political science or mathematics. Maybe his favorite quote, “Why don’t you know your algebra?” said by his AP Calculus teacher, Mr. Olivo, will help him in his pursuit of math to remind him to be mindful of the basics as he gets further and further. He also hopes to teach when he grows up, but not high school; Zac hopes to teach upper-level and higher education someday.
As for why he was chosen, a friend of Zac’s said it is because he is simply “a really smart and really great guy.”
