Hot on the heels of her major win with her No to Distracted Driving Video Contest victory, Malia Rosburg received another great honor when she was named Senior of the Month for December.
Her love for video and film is apparent in her list of extra-curricular activities, as she heads Tabb High’s Tiger TV, where she films and creates each episode. She is also involved in Quill and Scroll, National English Honor Society, National Honor Society, and is editor-in-chief of Tiger Times. Malia also loves to give back to the community, as she is a part of Tabb High Key Club and volunteers monthly with the SPCA.
A busy student, Malia studies diligently, and her favorite study tools to date are the songs that her friend, Joi Wright creates for anatomy. When asked about her favorite class, Malia said she loves English (most of the time), and it was in her senior English class that her favorite class memory took place, where she acted out a dating show with fellow classmates Veronica DiFulvio, Lauren Blanks, and Margaret Tulloss in order to teach her class about test-taking techniques. She starred as contestants two and four, and wound up victorious again! She is a talent for sure.
As for how she hopes to use this talent? Malia wants to go to college in California, namely UCLA or UC Santa Cruz. While she ventures into college and beyond, she said she will look most fondly on the memories she created with her friends and all of the fun they had here at Tabb. Her brilliant advice to younger students is that “you choose how happy you are, so hang out with the right people and make good friends in high school.”
