Senior Signing Season

Four Tabb High seniors have signed for college sports

Every year there is a select group of high school seniors who get the privilege of playing a sport at the collegiate level. The dedication and time invested into their sports make these few students stand out to college recruiters. At Tabb, four students have already taken the next step and signed to play at the college of their dreams. Here are the students who have signed so far:

 

Sydney Jacobson 

Committed to: Longwood University (D1) 

Where: Farmvile, VA 

Sport: Softball 

When did she commit: January 1, 2016 

Most difficult part of transitioning: The time commitment. 

How is she preparing: Working with a trainer 

Most excited for: The people and the environment 

 

Amber Verstynen 

Committed to: George Mason University (D1) 

Where: Fairfax, VA 

Sport: Softball 

When did she commit: September of 2016 

Most difficult part of transitioning: Time management 

How is she preparing: Focusing on school work and practicing as much as she can 

Most excited for: Becoming close with her team 

 

Casey McCabe 

Committed to: Newberry College (D2) 

Where: Newberry, SC 

Sport(s): Field Hockey and Lacrosse 

When did she commit: Field Hockey- June of 2016. Lacrosse- November 12, 2017 

Most Difficult part of transitioning: Balancing school and practice 

How is she Preparing: Working on her time management skills and actually scheduling things 

Most excited for: “I am most excited for pursuing my major and moving forward in life.” 

 

Alex Morales 

Committed to: Syracuse University (D1) 

Where: Syracuse, NY 

Sport: Field Hockey 

When did she commit: May 2, 2015 

Most difficult part of transitioning: The physical toll and harder competition 

How is she preparing: Started lifting and running more as well as practicing as much as she can 

Most excited for: Being a part of a higher performance environment and just attending Syracuse, because she loves the school.
